Laser Cutting of Hollow Structural Ceramics: a New Approach to Precision Micromachining
来源:本站
Ceramic parts with unique hollow structure are often used in medical equipment, and the large-scale application of precision ceramic parts makes them a common consumable. The preparation process of ceramic parts generally needs to preset the gate structure, and the actual finished product needs to cut the gate structure. The traditional laser cutting process often leaves melt at the middle hole, and there are obvious burrs and flashes on the cutting rear end surface; in addition, the traditional cutting method often needs a visual camera to achieve precise positioning of the processing, which is not only time-consuming, but also greatly increases the operating cost of the equipment.
In response to the above problems, Boyi Laser Team independently developed laser ceramic cutting equipment, which uses a unique embedded fixture to achieve precise positioning of the laser cutting process of zirconium oxide ceramics, as shown in Figure a.
The machining coordinates are synchronously calibrated through the manufacturing process of the embedded jig, so that the accuracy of the final cutting position is ensured. Specifically, to ensure the flatness of the cutting end face without inclination, the cutting accuracy can be within 50 microns, as shown in Figure b.
At the same time, the cutting atmosphere is controlled to optimize the cutting end surface effect, and the laser process parameters such as power, frequency and speed are further optimized to ensure the cleanliness of the cutting end surface, supplemented by post-treatment processes such as ultrasonic cleaning, to obtain the required end surface effect, as shown in Figure c.
In addition to the precision cutting of zirconia ceramics, we also provide cutting, drilling and scribing of alumina, aluminum nitride, glass oxide and other ceramic materials, as well as precision micro-processing solutions for instrumentation, aerospace, mechanical and electrical products and other industries.
